School Information

ENTRANCE AGE:

Children must be at least in kindergarten.  The child should be able to dress themselves on their own and must be able to use the toilette alone

TRIAL PERIOD:

Unless notified by the parents to the contrary, children will definitely be accepted into the ballet school after a trial period of four weeks

CLOTHING:

- ballet slippers, leather or canvas (no black shoes, only pink or white)

- pink or white tights

- long or short armed leotard (no specific color)

- ballet skirt (optional)

- please, no tutus. The body must be visible

Ballet slippers, tights and also leotards can be found at  The Ballettt-shop Zürich, Römergasse 4, Zürich.  A 10% discount for students coming from Ballettschule Shonach Mirk, Horgen, is available

ABSENCE/ILLNESS:

Absences and or illnesses must be communicated to the ballet school direction: 076 534 7112

HOLIDAYS:

The ballet school year begins at the beginning of September and ends at the end of June.  The school is closed on legal holidays as well as during the Christmas holiday break.  During the autumn, sports and spring breaks  the school is open, unless otherwise communicated by the school direction

COSTS:

The cost of the school is independent from illness or vacation breaks.  The monthly cost is calculated as 9 months class time shared over a 10 month period. 

ENDING OF CONTRACT: 

Leaving the ballet school is possible at the end of the semester (end of January, end of June) unless otherwise agreed upon between the parents and the school direction.  

ACCOMPANIMENT/ VISITS:

Visitors can disturb the students in their concentration.  If you are planning on visiting a class, please check with the ballet direction first.

TELEPHONES:

Visitors telephones must be turned off during the class time.

SMOKING:

Smoking is prohibited within the entire building.
